DESCRIPTION:Seychelles’ Conservation and Climate Adaption Trust (SeyCCAT) invites applicants for the position of Project Coordinator.  The Project Coordinator will support the MSP core team and participate\, as is required\, in steps to support finalization and implementation of the MSP.  The Project Coordinator will be reporting to the SeyCCAT’s Project Manager with technical support from the TNC’s Seychelles Marine Spatial Plan Initiative Project Manager. The key responsibilities will be to coordinate closely with the Government of Seychelles\, relevant agencies\, the MSP committees and working groups\, all NGOs and corporate stakeholders\, to help deliver on the objectives of the grants. \nThe Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall implementation of projects including contract management\, and the supervision of the sub-contracts and consultants. \nThe role is for a fixed term of 2-years for a full-time role with SeyCCAT\, with possibility for extension. \nDeadline for submission: 16th August 2024\, at 5 PM.   \nFor more information\, click here.

DESCRIPTION:Dear SMSP Committee Members\, partners and stakeholders\, \nMACCE through the Seychelles Marine Spatial Plan (SMSP) team and SeyCCAT has recruited a consultant to review and update the information pertaining to implementation of financing options for the SMSP\, including Seychelles’ Marine Protection Areas (SMSP costing analysis 2.0). \nThe work involves updating the first costing analysis that was developed in 2018. The government needs an updated costing and financing analysis to have current information for sustainable financing assessments and implementation options. Dr @John Bohorquez is the consultant who has been leading this important piece of work. Dr Bohorquez has experience in private sector finance and consulting experience dedicated to MPA finance and conservation finance at large. We would like to thank those who have provided information on this analysis. \nOn the behalf of the Ministry\, we are pleased to invite you to a full day in-person workshop on Thursday the 19th September from 0830-1600hrs at the Savoy Hotel\, Beau Vallon. This workshop will be an opportunity to present the findings of the SMSP Costing 2.0 analysis to key stakeholders\, for those stakeholders to provide feedback and clarify any outstanding matters\, and to overall inform and refine the work through structured dialogue.  The goal is to assist the consultant in preparing a final report\, as well as chart a roadmap for future work and a potential action plan to enact some of the work’s recommendations if deemed appropriate. \nPlease find here the agenda for the workshop\, which includes information about the session topics and schedule – click here.
