The workshop will be used to present a draft protocol which is aimed to serve as a framework for new and emerging fisheries. The idea is to debate the structure which can be adjusted according to expert input from key stakeholders. The protocol is designed to be as concise as possible to facilitate input and advice.\nIntroduction of an Experimental Fishery:\nTwo potential resources have been selected to be considered for an experimental fishery: squid and prawns. To evaluate the implementation of such a fishery Steps 1 (Information gathering) and Step 2a (Scientific survey) of the proposed experimental fisheries protocol for the Seychelles will be presented\, and advice on the next steps discussed.These include duration\, area\, number of vessels/licences\, vessel types\, gear\, etc.; experimental design — objectives\, methods of data collection\, anticipated statistical analyses; management measures; performance indicators; and administrative processes — application process\, notification\, monitoring and analysis process and costs\, compliance\, penalties\, review and amendment procedures.

DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday 5th April 2023\nTime: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM\nLocation: Eden Blue Conference Room\nHost: Ministry of Agriculture\, Climate Change and Environment (MACCE) under the SWIOFish3 Programme\nPurpose: To review the draft management plans developed after the participatory workshops held in late 2022\, and discuss the details of the plans through interactive sessions.\nDraft Agenda: Click here\nFinal Agenda: Available upon request from Jude Bijoux judebijoux@gmail.com\nRSVP to Jude Bijoux judebijoux@gmail.com by 30th March 2023 \nDetails \nThe Ministry of Agriculture\, Climate Change and Environment (MACCE) and the Seychelles Marine Spatial Plan Initiative (SMSP) under the SWIOFish3 Programme would like to invite you to participate in the stakeholder review of the draft management plans for Cosmoledo and Astove Sustainable Use (Zone 2) Area designated under the SMSP. \nThere are a series of opportunities to participate in this review phase\, including workshop information and Q&A sessions\, online\, and through targeted meetings. The focus of this phase of the process is for stakeholders to review the draft management plans developed after the participatory workshops held in late 2022\, and discuss the details of the plans through interactive sessions. There will also be a session focused on the development of the performance measurement framework (PMF).  \nAdditional Information \nThe focus of each consultation is tailored to meet different stakeholder needs and availability. The draft management plan review phase will be open for four weeks from the start of this consultation\, and all stakeholders are encouraged to engage with the process either in-person or online. \nEach review workshop will be focused on one of the sustainable use areas and will be an interactive 3-hour session with opportunities for discussions and Q&A about the draft management plans. The draft management plans will be available to participants from 3 April 2023\, so they can discuss their needs and priorities with their constituents/ colleagues and prepare for the workshops.
