Cosmoledo and Astove Archipelago Marine Sustainable Use Area

Stakeholders and the public are invited to review and comment on three DRAFT management plans. These management plans are for Marine Sustainable Use Areas (Zone 2) from the Seychelles MSP Initiative: Amirantes to Fortune Bank, Cosmoledo and Astove Archipelago, and Farquhar Archipelago.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment (MACCE) is overseeing this project, with funding from the World Bank’s SWIOFish3 programme.  Technical support is being provided by the Seychelles MSP team.

The three management plans are being developed by international and local consultants from C2O Fisheries.Using a participatory process, the stakeholder consultations began in September 2022 to prepare and write the DRAFT management plans. The documents are now ready for stakeholder and public comments.  The public consultation phase for these DRAFT management plans is in July-August 2023.  MACCE and C2O Fisheries is seeking stakeholder feedback through surveys that are linked below.
