MSP Outputs List

Phase 1 was launched in February 2014 and was completed in 2018.  It lays the foundation of the marine plan by developing a coarse scale zoning design and draft management considerations with stakeholders.  In Phase 1, the planning was in deep waters.   The shallow water areas were considered interim Zone 2 for the purposes of mapping and zoning design.

Phase 2 began in 2018 and included refining the zoning design and management considerations, in particular for the Territorial Sea (12 nautical miles), and completing the implementation plan, monitoring and review plan, and developing budgets and costs. The MSP core team will prepare a marine plan in accordance with the governance framework for stakeholder consultations. In Phase 2, consultations with stakeholders, data collection and scientific analysis will allow for refining the zoning design and evaluating different scenarios with stakeholders in order to achieve economic and ecological objectives for Seychelles.
