Milestone 2 – Nomination File

The Phase 2 – Milestone 2 outputs include a zoning design to meet the next goal of the debt swap (7.5%) plus draft allowable activities tables and management considerations.

From Feb to Nov 2018, the Seychelles MSP held 18 stakeholder meetings and workshops, and undertook 26 bilateral consultations with marine sectors and government agencies. With agreement from the MSP Technical Working Groups, MSP Steering Committee and MSP Executive Committee, the Seychelles submitted a Cabinet Memo to Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change on 13 November for approval to prepare a nomination file for Milestone 2, as per meeting the timelines for the Seychelles debt swap. The Seychelles MSP received approval from the Cabinet of Ministers on 21 November 2018 to submit the nomination file for Milestone 2.   A nomination file was submitted to Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change on 30 November 2018.

The Notice of Intention was published on 29 January 2019. Copies of the map showing the area can be inspected free of charge during normal working hours at the following places:
1. Documentation Centre of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change at the Botanical Gardens, Mont Fleuri; or
2. Department of Environment, Fond B’Offay, Praslin.

Any person who wishes to may submit written comments to the Principal Secretary of Environment Department, Botanical Gardens, Mont Fleuri.
